As far as we know Sunshine was the very first Golden Retriever bitch from Germany (maybe even from the Continent) to be mated naturally in the UK – made possible through the Pet Travel Scheme in 2000.
This was one of the most exciting and nerve-racking matings ever! Why? Because Peace (aka SH CH Amirene Pacifique) only mated Sunshine once. He wasn’t one of those studs that mates over and over again – it was once and that was it! You can’t even imagine the stomachaches and worrying we went through for 4 weeks until Sunshine was scanned! We won’t mention the time and money spent!
